Title Quality Engineer

As a Quality Engineer, you will:
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives aligned with annual departmental and organizational performance objectives
  • Develop and implement corrective‑action solutions and project launch evaluation methods using structured methodologies such as 8D and root cause analysis to address customer and internal issues and prevent recurrence
  • Manage departmental gage calibration programs (approximately 400 gages), ensuring compliance with applicable standards, maintaining inventory, and generating gage risk assessments to mitigate out‑of‑tolerance risks
  • Evaluate and support supplier quality activities for outsourced project requirements, including assessment, issue resolution, and ongoing performance support
  • Author, maintain, and improve department procedures, forms, work instructions, and guides to support clarity, compliance, and operational efficiency
  • Maintain departmental skills matrices, organizational charts, and training assessments, including documentation of continuing education and competency development
  • Provide ISO‑related training (including ISO 9001) for new hires, interns, and assigned personnel, and support internal quality awareness initiatives
  • Prepare for, facilitate, and support internal and external quality audits, including coordination with third‑party auditors as required
  • Develop, maintain, and present monthly quality metrics and KPI reviews, including open corrective actions, calibration status, continuous improvement activities, and other required quality reporting.
  • Perform written and verbal quality reporting, present quality information and KPIs, and participate in internal and external meetings as a quality representative
  • Initiate, document, and follow up on customer feedback activities, including surveys and related action items as applicable
  • Support departmental safety responsibilities as assigned, including participation in safety walks, toolbox talks, and job hazard analysis activities
To be considered a Quality Engineer, you will need:
  • Associate's degree in a relevant manufacturing or technical field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related quality experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or technical environment
  • U.S. Citizen allowing for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliance
  • Strong proficiency in structured problem‑solving methodologies, including 8D, root cause analysis, and risk‑based quality tools
  • Ability to analyze operational situations, evaluate risk, and apply management and quality tools to resolve organizational and process challenges
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and lead cross‑functional team members toward objective, compliant quality outcomes
  • Knowledge of blueprint interpretation, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and inspection techniques. Able to interpret engineering drawings, related specifications and requirements and communicate them to the cross‑function team
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems, associated documentation requirements, and audit processes, including planning, execution, reporting, and follow‑up
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, with emphasis on Excel‑based reporting, data analysis, graphs, and presentations
  • Ability to interact professionally on a technical level with internal teams, suppliers, and customers
A successful candidate may also have:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technically related field
  • Professional quality certification (e.g., ASQ)
  • AS9100 quality experience
  • Experience supporting regulated or audited quality management systems and complex manufacturing or assembly operations
  • Experience with gage management systems, calibration standards, and inventory management tools
  • Experience supporting advanced manufacturing, vehicle assembly, second‑stage manufacturing, or upfit environments
  • Working knowledge of Gage Trak, NIST, ISO 17025
