Essential Duties:

• Oversee the development and implementation of nutritious meal programs that meet local, state, and federal guidelines.
• Plan menus that are age-appropriate, culturally sensitive, and inclusive of diverse dietary needs.
• Monitor and evaluate food service operations, adjusting plans and strategies as necessary.
• Prepare and manage the food service budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and cost-effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate financial records, including food purchasing, inventory management, and labor costs.
• Train and supervise food service staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Develop staff training programs that emphasize safe food handling, preparation techniques, and customer service.
• Ensure all food service operations comply with health and safety regulations, as well as USDA requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections of food preparation areas and food service operations to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.
• Act as a liaison between the food service program and the school community, including students, parents, and staff.
• Communicate effectively with school administrators, staff, and parents regarding food service policies, changes, and initiatives.
• Assist with office operations including maintaining documents and procedures.
• Work independently and with others to fulfill school goals and objectives.
• Regular and predictable attendance.

• Recall and abide by school policy and support school culture and goals
• Be able to think logically and abstractly to solve problems
• Provide outstanding written and oral communication

• Occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds
• Stand and walk frequently
• Withstand all demands presented by outside weather conditions at any time of the year
• Withstand a moderate noise level

• Experience in food service management, preferably in a K-12 educational setting.
• Knowledge of USDA regulations, nutrition standards, and food safety practices.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships within the school community.
• Certification in food safety and nutrition is preferred.
