Verdantas is seeking a talented Distribution
Field Technician to join our team in the Grand Rapids or Petoskey, MI office. This hands‑on role focuses on supporting field operations, ensuring quality and compliance across a variety of infrastructure projects.

What You’ll Do:
  • Map and inventory existing overhead and underground distribution systems in the field, supporting the design and providing input on system rebuilds and upgrades

  • Identify system and safety issues in electrical systems, including supporting our clients when faced with emergency outages caused by storms or technical issues

  • Coordinate preconstruction meetings between clients and construction contractors

  • Perform construction inspections and spot checks to ensure construction meets design and safety standards

  • Perform post‑construction inspections supporting as‑builts and ensuring safe and reliable electricity distribution for residential, commercial, and utility clients

  • Completion of field documentation in a timely manner, such as job safety analysis (JSA) forms, project field reports, field notes, monitoring, and chain‑of‑custody forms

  • Maintain detailed records of work performed and maintain strong communication with the office staff

What You Bring:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Completion of lineman apprenticeship program and a Dept. of Labor Journeyman certificate

  • 2-5 years of experience with electric overhead and underground distribution systems

  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and equipment, including but not limited to: transformers, insulators, switches, conductor, elbows, and tees

  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and electrical plans

  • Capable of working primarily in an outdoor work environment and occasional office environment

  • Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs. without accommodation and the ability to climb poles is a plus

  • Commitment to safety protocols and regulatory compliance

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License

Salary Range:

$24-$27
