Under supervision, the General Maintenance position performs skilled and semi-skilled work in the following maintenance fields: HVAC , carpenter, electrician, equipment mechanic, and plumber-fitter. Must have acquired sufficient training and experience to complete repairs in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC , and grounds equipment areas.

Required Qualifications- Valid Michigan Driver’s License and College approved driving record.
- Five (5) years experience/training in HVAC , plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry trades; documentation provided by employee per Article XV, Section
F. - Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to communicate and work well with others.
- Ability to supervise others.
- Proven record of dependability and reliability.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively and up to 100 lbs. occasionally and pass the Schoolcraft College pre-employment physical examination.

The employee may frequently lift 50 lbs., occasionally up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, depth perception, color, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is frequently required to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally required to work in high, precarious places (frequent ladder/aerial lift use), around toxic or caustic chemicals, in outdoor weather conditions and with the risk of electrical shock. - Noise Level: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
