JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title:

Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician

Department: OSC Backshops (Storage Crew)

Reports to:

Maintenance Supervisor

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor for the scheduling and assignment of daily jobs.

Lead and direct subordinate crew members in the performance of job tasks. Ensure that productivity and work quality is satisfactory.

Ensure that all identified issues are resolved in a timely manner.

Assist subordinate crew members with interpreting maintenance manuals and Kalitta Air Storage program.

Ensure that all maintenance performed by subordinate crew members is in accordance with AMM, SRM, storage program, ect. Ensure that all maintenance actions performed by subordinate crew members are properly documented.

Provide OJT as necessary to subordinate crew members.

Ensure all subordinate CBT training is current, including equipment used in their daily routines.

Assist subordinate crew members in the accomplishment of assigned tasks.

Assist Maintenance Supervisor in identifying any safety related deficiencies.

Any other duties as assigned by the maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Manager.

Generate unscheduled work orders

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be able to work overtime, weekends and days off.

FAA Airframe license required.

EDUCATION and/or

EXPERIENCE:

High school graduate; 5 years min experience in maintenance and repair of commercial category aircraft

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to give verbal and written directions to assigned staff.
