We are seeking a motivated Mendix & AI Application Development Intern to join our program focused on building Mendix Apps and AI agents to drive process improvements. As an intern, you'll work with Siemens low-code solution Mendix, and both public GPT tools and our internal Siemens GPT environment to help turn identified opportunities into real improvements in technical, and operational workflows.
Key Responsibilities- Low-code development:
Use Mendix to extend existing internal applications and build new applications for internal and external partner productivity and reporting. - AI Integration & Scripting:
Use Python to integrate and optimize GPT-based solutions for processes already identified by our teams. - Process Implementation:
Collaborate with stakeholders to transform these identified opportunities into practical, real-world improvements. - Documentation & Best Practices:
Document your work clearly, create easy-to-follow best practices, and catalog any specialized prompts or scripts for future use. - Primarily work on extended development of our resource request application built on Mendix. Other activities may include building Ai agents and bots in our internal GPT tool for partner sales and technical resources to leverage and interact with.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or relevant field; preferably a rising junior-senior.
Comfortable working in a hybrid environment (at least 2 days in our Livonia, MI office) within the United States of America.
Technical
Skills:
Experience with Mendix or other low-code applications a plus but not required. Experience with Python and a basic understanding of AI tools. Class level is flexible, but we value initiative and a willingness to learn.
Curiosity & Initiative: A curious mindset and the ability to work independently on assigned tasks.

Collaboration:
You'll be working with a mentor and various members of the Siemens team, so teamwork is important.
Communication:
Strong communication skills to document and share your work effectively.

You’ll Benefit FromThe hourly pay range for this position $18 - $50 per hour, based off of your projected graduation year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
