Heavy Equipment Mechanic
As a Vehicle Mechanic, you'll be part of a skilled team maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of military vehicles and electrical equipment. This is a hands‑on role where your technical expertise will directly support operational readiness and national defence. You'll carry out diagnostics, inspections, servicing and repairs to ensure vehicles and equipment meet the highest standards. Day‑to‑day you'll be:
- Diagnosing and inspecting vehicles and mechanical or electrical equipment
- Working to customer specifications, regulations and technical publications
- Ensuring correct use of stores and equipment, and returning unused or faulty items
- Creating job cards and requesting materials using ERP systems (SAP)
- Completing documentation, test certificates and reports to current standards
- Working at the Sennybridge site Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
- Performing manual work including lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time
- Passing a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Experience in a dealership or local garage setting
- Hydraulics experience
- Strong team player with adaptability and rapport‑building skills
- NVQ Level 3 in Service and Repair
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain a Security Check (SC) security clearance.
