Role:Community Short Breaks Worker
Salary:£24,309.07 per annum (£10,512 pro-rata) - From the 1st of April 2026, your salary will be £25,949 per annum (£11,221 pro-rata)

Permanent, Part Time
-16 hours per week – Tuesday to Saturday between core hours of 09:00 and 22:00 (3 hours per session)

RCT Community Short Breaks allows children to enjoy a safe, meaningful experience and an opportunity has arisen for Community Short Breaks Workers to join our dedicated, friendly, warm and professional team.
The Community Short Breaks Project provides support to children and young people with disabilities. This includes support to access community-based activities on a 1:1 basis, small groups, activities at the community and project base.
We are ready to support and develop you to build on the experience you already have. We would love to hear from you if you want to help change lives by working at the forefront of child-centered care.
How you’ll help to create brighter futuresCommunity Short Breaks Workers work directly with children and young people in this service.
You will make a difference by:
- Helping young people with disabilities have a presence in the community.
- Providing a safe environment where they can enjoy time, learn and have fun in a safe setting.
- Helping them in all aspects of their daily lives and supporting their health and happiness.
Our job description for the Community Short Breaks Worker outlines the requirements of the role but the ‘must-haves' are:
- Experience of working with children/young people with disabilities is desirable but not essential.
- NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care/Playwork (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
- Flexibility to work a variation of session patterns.
