Role As an Apprentice Joiner, you will learn how to carry out essential joinery tasks to prepare and maintain modular buildings used on construction sites. Working in a busy depot workshop, you’ll focus on “first fit” activities such as installing doors, windows, kitchen units and internal fixtures. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work and wants to develop specialist joinery skills in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities- Measuring, cutting, and assembling timber components for modular buildings.
- Installing doors, windows, kitchen units and internal fittings during first-fit stages.
- Repairing and maintaining joinery elements in site accommodation units.
- Assisting with layout and preparation of modular buildings in the workshop.
- Using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Supporting senior joiners with complex joinery tasks and quality checks.
- Core joinery techniques including measuring, marking, cutting, and fixing.
- Installation of doors, windows, kitchen units and internal fixtures in modular units.
- Safe use and maintenance of hand tools and power tools.
- Understanding of drawings and specifications.
- Problem-solving and attention to detail in joinery work.
- Health and safety practices in a workshop environment.
GCSE Maths and English at grade A*-D / 3-9 (or equivalent).
You don’t need previous experience for the role, but you do need to be ready to learn, have a positive mindset and a can-do attitude!
