Tractor Driver Livestock Skills - Pembrokeshire

We are a family run organic dairy farm in North Pembrokeshire and are looking for a 2nd tractor driver to our team to support the 3 dairy farms with their arable and silage work. We cover over 3000 acres spread across Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire. The farms aren't flat, and the gear is big and expensive, so you need to be experienced working on hills.

We run 3 x 200 hp tractors, none of which are Fendt or John Deere. There is no auto steer so you will have to pay attention to where you are going and not your phone. The tractors have gears not vario. We also have a fleet of smaller tractors, some of which will be older than you, but still need to be looked after.

You need to be willing to get out of the tractor, there are lots of gates - we have lots of livestock of all ages and types. Be prepared to help other team members on the odd occasions. If you have a willingness to work, a good sense of humour and can stay off your phone for more than 5 minutes, you will receive a competitive salary commensurate with ability and experience.

There is accommodation available in a well maintained 2 bedroom semi-detached cottage in the village, close to the farm. Good schools are nearby, and the school bus passes the house. The Pembrokeshire/Cardiganshire coast is only 5 miles away. Non-smokers preferred - we share the tractors. Job can start as soon as possible.

• Mixing rations in the winter and feeding cattle - in tight, old sheds, so you need to be as good at going backwards as you are going forwards
• Scraping/mucking out and bedding down, without demolishing anything
• Slurry spreading with a 3250 gallon slurry tanker with gizmos
• Pasture preparation for silaging
• Mowing with front and rear Pottinger mowers
• Tedding with 12m Claas Tedder
• Rowing up with 12m Pottinger 4 rotor rake
• Relief driving Pottinger forage wagon
• Buck-raking/pit rolling with Kramer Telehandler
• Other harvesting duties
• Bale carting and stacking with loader tractor or Kramer
• Silage/bale/corn Carting
• Cultivations and drilling
• Maintaining machines and buildings
• Fencing
• Occasional milking
