Experience: Mid Level

Salary: $85,000 - $125,000 per year

Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed mechanical construction cost estimates for commercial plumbing projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and other related costs.
  • Prepare and submit competitive project proposals and bids in a timely manner.
  • Utilize take-off procedures to determine quantities and costs of materials.
  • Develop comprehensive project budgets and forecasts, and monitor project costs to ensure adherence to budget.
  • Conduct cost analysis and track project performance, identifying and reporting on variances as they arise.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and provide accurate cost estimates.
  • Review architectural plans and specifications to identify potential cost‑saving opportunities and challenges.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, materials, and technologies to ensure accurate and competitive cost estimates.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical construction estimation, specifically in commercial plumbing.
  • Demonstrated experience in take‑off procedures, preparing proposals, and project cost management.
  • Proficient in budgeting and forecasting, with a strong ability to conduct cost analysis.
  • In‑depth knowledge of plumbing systems, including materials, installation processes, and regulatory standards.
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Proficient in using estimating software and other industry‑related technologies.
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Professional certification in cost estimation or a related field is a plus.
