Clinical Mental Health and Counseling Temporary Pool

Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania invites applications for temporary faculty positions (full-time one semester, part-time one semester or part-time academic year) as needs arise in the Department of Counseling and Educational Leadership for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. The 100% Online Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program enables students to become license-eligible for the counseling profession in many states throughout the program.

The program's primary goal is to prepare students to function independently and successfully as a clinical mental health counselor in a variety of professional settings. Based on the specific needs of the department at the time of appointment, a successful applicant must be qualified to teach graduate level courses and/or supervise students in field or internship experiences.

Duties
- Candidates will be expected to plan and deliver instruction through multiple modes of instruction including: asynchronous (e.g., Brightspace) and synchronous (e.g., Zoom). In addition to teaching classes, temporary faculty are expected to hold office hours, engage with departmental faculty, attend program and department meetings, complete scholarly activities related to the position, and engage in service activities (e.g., interviewing graduate student applicants).

The location for these temporary positions varies with the expectation of serving a multi-campus University within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.

Qualifying Experience and Education (Minimum/Preferred) - MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Candidate must have experience teaching a minimum of 5 graduate level courses independently through distance education particularly experience with using virtual synchronous classrooms. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at the time of hire. Candidate must have a master's degree in counseling and be a Licensed Professional Counselor or a Licensed Mental Health Counselor prior to the start date.

The successful candidate must be able to communicate well in an interview and/or teaching demonstration. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Candidates with any of the following certifications are preferred:
Approved Clinical Supervisor, Board Certified Telemental Health, and/or National Certified Addiction Counselor or Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Other preferred qualifications include recent scholarly activity and service to the clinical mental health profession and community.
