Molding Press Operator

Job Title

Operates plastic injection molding machines. Follows quality inspection instructions for each individual part number. Removes molded parts from machine and inspects for the cosmetic defects.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Operates plastic injection molding machines.
• Follows quality inspection instructions for each individual part number.
• Removes molded parts from machine and inspects for the cosmetic defects.
• Reports any defects to supervisor may require trimming, cutting, or wiping to make the parts acceptable.
• May be required to perform secondary operations to parts such as drilling holes, heat staking, spray coating, inserting pins and other miscellaneous task per the router.
• Will package product according to the shop packet operations form.
• May be required to use gauges and charts to record control chart measurements.
• May be required to regrind runners and parts to salvage material.
• May be required to sort or rework rejected product.
• Will keep the work area clean and orderly.
• Checks all machine safety devices at the beginning of their tour and reports deficiencies to the supervisor.

Other requirements include:

• Persons in this job must be able to sit and/or stand all day (up to 10 hours), manually lift and carry up to 50 pounds, push/pull containers of wire/cable or assemblies which may weigh up to several hundred pounds (either on dollies or on edge-not dead weight) rotate to various assignments involving various working conditions within their job description, perform high and low repetition jobs, perform all aspects of their job, perform fine manipulations, firm grasping and firm cutting (up to 25 pounds of pressure periodically) and be able to use hand tools including but not limited to tweezers, wire cutters, wire crimpers, screw drivers, pliers, soldering irons, cable cutters, utility knifes etc.,
  
  manually push, pull and bend wire and cable, work through a range of motions from ground up to and including above shoulder height, bend and twist from the waist.

Education required:

• High School diploma or G.E.D. Certification preferred
• Due to International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) requirements, all candidates must be presently classified as a "US Person" which includes: a United states citizen; a permanent legal resident (green card holder) or a protected individual (refugee/asylum status).
