Primary
Purpose:
Coordinate the collection and reporting of district Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data. Collaborate with the technology department to assist and/or provide support to campus PEIMS staff with the district's data software program (Skyward).
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelors Degree or 5 years related experience
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Ability to handle confidential information
Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing
Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills
Ability to meet established deadlines
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Major
Responsibilities and Duties:
Records and Reports
* Coordinate the collection, integration, and formatting of all data required for TSDS PEIMS and TSDS Core submission according to TSDS TEDS Data Standards.
* Work cooperatively with campus, district, business office, and personnel office staff to collect, organize, and format data required to submit district TSDS PEIMS and TSDS Core data in a timely manner.
* Run edits, reports, and verification checks on data to ensure accuracy of information
* Submit complete and accurate TSDS PEIMS and TSDS Core data in Texas Education Agency (TEA)-prescribed format.
* Verify data submitted to TEA and submit corrections in a timely manner.
* Provide training and support to campuses and to district, business, and personnel office staff responsible for processing PEIMS data.
* Receive TSDS PEIMS-related and TSDS Core Collection information from ESC and TEA and disseminate to other staff in a timely manner, including updates TSDS TEDS Data Standards and Student Attendance Acctng. Handbook (SAAH).
* Attend all regional TSDS PEIMS and TSDS Core workshops and disseminate information to appropriate staff.
* Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
* Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
* Research policy or rules to provide district guidance (ie. local, state, federal policies)
* Assist Special Services department to assure maximization of school funds generated via PEIMS
* Collaboration with District Registrar
* Any other duties assigned
Student Information System Support
* Support to campuses year round on Student and TSDS PEIMS and TSDA Core Collection issues.
* Student Management - partnership with District Registrar and Technology Dept
* Maintain Code Tables/District-wide data
* End of Year/Start of Year Process
* Provide support and answer question on various issues
* SIS contact for Student Management
* Attend SIS User Group Conferences in Fall
* Collaborate with the District Registrar and Technology Dept to provide training and assistance on the Student Management Module.
* Collaborate with the District Registrar to distribute edits and reports to appropriate staff for analysis, verification, and correction.
