Salary: $1,732.00 - $1,861.60 biweekly

Strategic FunctionProvides educational leadership to the classroom by designing and implementing classroom instruction and lesson plans appropriate to meet the individual needs of every child. Primary duty is to nurture the development and impart knowledge to children three to five years of age through the provision of developmentally appropriate care. Secondary duty is to provide challenging appropriate educational activities.

In order to promote the school readiness, health and well-being of the children the Teacher will:
- Implement with the children all procedures and activities regarding the children’s health and nutrition practices as defined in the Program's Service Plans.
- Conduct and document all children’s health and nutrition screenings according to agency policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all meals are pleasant experiences for the children. This includes sitting at the table and eating the same food as the children for each meal served, completing required attendance and meal count documentation, and following Mealtime Procedures and Guidelines. Follows up on children's absences according to the Attendance Policy.
- Report all suspected Child Abuse to the Child Abuse Hotline at and to the Center Director and the ERSEA and Family Engagement Coordinator.
- Arrange and organize the physical environment in the classroom and weekly change the materials, pictures, posters and books so that the learning environment both inside and outdoors is safe, developmentally appropriate and contains all the required elements as outlined in the Program Service Plans. This includes conducting required safety checks, fire and safety drills and adherence to the Facility Safety Procedure.
- Work with all staff so that all adult to child interactions in the classroom are positive, appropriate and respectful.
- Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum in the class every day making sure that all required activities (ex. transportation, safety, and mental health) are included This includes posting a copy of the current plan in the classroom at all times. This may include planning and assisting with field trips and arranging for guest speakers or visitors. [Follow agency policies and procedures concerning transportation.]
- Work as a team with other adults in the classroom so that children are primarily engaged in appropriate activities and transitions usually occur in an orderly manner that minimizes waiting time.
- Completes all documentation as directed in the Program Service Plans including but not limited to developmental and behavioral screenings, children’s files, education notebooks, and parent communication in the COPA…
