• Promote safety: take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.
• Perform general physical activities: assist with the operation of the plant, using hand tools, cleaning, washing, sweeping, shoveling materials.
• Repair and maintain equipment: assist co-workers in servicing, repairing, and adjusting various pieces of equipment throughout the plant.
• Inspect equipment and structures: perform daily inspections and maintenance to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations, maximizing production and minimizing interruptions.
• Operate vehicles and equipment: operate heavy construction equipment or similar cleanup loaders to assist with the plant operation.

Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

• Experience:
  
  previous experience in the aggregate or construction industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of best practices: general principles and practices of industrial maintenance, construction, or aggregate production is preferred.
• Flexibility: must be able to work overtime and extended hours, work outside in all weather conditions, and tolerate exposure to loud noises.
• Mechanical skills: some knowledge and experience with industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.

This position is covered by the Local 150 collective bargaining agreement. Full benefits package includes medical, vision, dental, prescription drug, mental health, pension, retiree benefits, paid holidays and paid vacation.

Experienced candidates will be placed according to the union contract salary scale between $41.75 - $44.75.
