Position: Facility Operations Specialist.

Duties

  • Analyze maintenance history for facilities and equipment and establish maintenance schedules.
  • Develop and update maintenance equipment profiles.
  • Record system maintenance and repair history.
  • Prepare or assist in preparing annual and/or periodic program reports.
  • Attend project maintenance meetings and relay pertinent information.
  • Provide access and permissions for employees utilizing the Facilities and Equipment Maintenance System (FEM).
  • Troubleshoot system problems and issues.
  • Organize, compile all pertinent information, assure accuracy, and enter data updates for equipment into automated maintenance systems.
  • Serve as the Facilities Equipment Maintenance Systems (FEM) subject matter expert (SME) for the project.
  • Ensure quality of data entered into FEM by field staff and technicians.
Requirements

Conditions of employment:

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination based on a completed background investigation.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state motor vehicle operator's license prior to appointment.
Qualifications
  • Education and/or experience requirements described below.
  • Specialized Experience GS-9:
    One year of specialized experience including using computer maintenance management systems to create preventative maintenance schedules, work orders, and customizable reports; assisting in scheduling emergency, non-routine, corrective, or unanticipated work orders; closing work orders, ensuring proper coding of time, equipment, and supplies in a computer maintenance management system.
  • Education:

    Master’s or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education with major in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration.
  • Combination of

    Education and Experience:

    compute percentage as described.
  • Time in Grade Requirement:
    Applicants who have held a GS position within last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at next lower grade.
