Emergency Vehicle Technician for Fire District – Lockport Township, IL
The Lockport Township Fire Protection District is committed to maintaining a highly reliable fleet to support emergency response operations in a growing fleet maintenance program. The Emergency Vehicle Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of personnel and the community through proactive maintenance and rapid repair of essential equipment.
The Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of all fire district apparatus and support vehicles. This includes fire engines, ladder trucks, ambulances, staff vehicles, and specialized equipment. The EVT ensures all vehicles are maintained in a state of readiness to support emergency response operations safely and efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:- ASE Certifications
- EVT Certifications
- Experience working with fire apparatus and EMS vehicles (Ford F550s)
- Knowledge of NFPA 1911 and 1917 standards
- Experience with computer based diagnostic systems
