Position Overview
Ryder is hiring a Class C Truck Driver in Lockport, IL — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.
Pay & SchedulePay:
Approximately $1100 average weekly.
Hours Per Week: 48 hours.
Paid Training.
Schedule:
Monday – Friday.
Start Time: 5:30 AM Dispatch.
Route & EquipmentRoute:
Dedicated Home Daily.
Deliver Solo: IL, IN, MI.
Tractor Type:
Straight Truck.
Trailer Type: 20‑26' Straight Trucks.
Equipment:
Pallet Jack and Liftgate.
Freight:
Touch – Auto Parts.

Ryder Drivers operate well‑maintained, safe trucks, 36 months or newer with 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide maintenance locations.
Requirements- Minimum 21 years of age
- Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Must have verifiable driving experience (must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck):
- 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, or
- 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, or
- 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
- This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service.
- Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines; detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards; maintaining accurate records; loading/unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer; other tasks as assigned.
