Night shift supervisor, Warehouse

We are hiring a 2nd shift and 3rd shift Warehouse Lead for our food and beverage client in Romeoville.

Both of these roles are 6 month contract to hires.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Night Shift Warehouse Lead to oversee our warehouse operations during overnight hours. This leadership role is vital in ensuring efficient inventory management, accurate shipping and receiving processes, and maintaining a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse management skills, technical knowledge of logistics systems, and the ability to lead a team effectively.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate night shift warehouse activities, including inventory control, shipping, receiving, and materials handling.
• Lead and motivate warehouse staff to meet productivity goals while maintaining high safety standards.
• Oversee inventory management processes using warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 platforms to ensure accuracy.
• Manage forklift operations and heavy lifting tasks safely in compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Implement process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency, reduce errors, and optimize workflow.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including OSHA standards, and conduct regular safety training sessions.
• Collaborate with logistics providers, 3PL partners, and internal teams to coordinate timely shipments and deliveries.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, shipping schedules, and receiving documentation.
• Monitor warehouse distribution activities to ensure adherence to company policies and customer requirements.
• Assist in resolving discrepancies related to inventory control or shipping & receiving issues promptly.

Requirements

• Proven experience in warehouse supervision or team management within a fast-paced distribution environment.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management, logistics operations, and warehouse distribution processes.
• Hands-on experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400, and other logistics software.
• Mechanical knowledge related to materials handling equipment such as forklifts.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and best practices for heavy lifting and materials handling.
• Ability to lead a team effectively while managing multiple priorities during night shifts.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control procedures.
• Prior experience working in e-commerce or 3PL logistics environments is preferred.
• Strong communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external partners. This role is essential for maintaining operational continuity during overnight hours while fostering a safe, efficient, and productive warehouse environment.
