Job TitlePhysical Therapy Clinical Director
Job SummaryResponsible for the efficient and effective functioning of the physical therapy clinic; plans and administers physical therapy treatment plans designed to alleviate pain, restore function, prevent disabilities, and promote overall fitness and health of patients. Performs administrative, supervisory, and advisory functions. Consults with and educates local companies about the benefits of Ortho Atlanta as their provider of choice. Acts as liaison between PT and community employers and is responsible for growth and development of these services/programs.
Serves as a liaison between staff and physicians to meet customer needs.
- Plan, organize and oversee activities of the physical therapy department including ensuring compliance with regulations of governmental and accrediting agencies
- Provide skilled physical therapy treatment plans in accordance with physician orders, current standards of care, and by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results of patients
- Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instruct patients, recommend and/or provide assistive equipment; recommend follow-up programs
- Promptly and thoroughly documents and maintains clinical and administrative records regarding patient limitations/interventions, treatments, responses and progress to administered therapy as well as discharge summaries
- Maintain patient records confidentially
- Record treatment charges daily and complete charge tickets in an accurate and timely manner
- Facilitate development and monitor department mission, policies and procedures and goals
- Oversee the development/implementation of programs including post offer testing, FCE and pre-employment screening; conduct testing in accordance with standard practice and within applicable laws
- Model a high standard of teamwork, leadership and professionalism; maintain patient confidentiality
- Develop strategic planning and marketing activities to increase Ortho Atlanta s visibility in the community
- Administer and comply with all company policies and procedures including infection control and safety policies
- Ensure company s guidelines for billing and collections of department services are adhered to
- Provide direction to Physical Therapy, Assistants and Aides with patient care and related activities as requested
- Ensure department complies with the Georgia State Physical Therapy Act, codes and regulations
- Maintain professional appearance and personal conduct at all times
- Follow all of the Company s policies and procedures
- Adhere to employer work practices as described in the TDC Occupational Blood Born Exposure Plan policy
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff and management
- Attend meetings as requested
- Provide backup for administrative staff, including answering phones, scheduling appointments and checking in patients
- Master s degree in healthcare or similar
- Graduate from an accredited physical therapy program
- Current State of Georgia Physical Therapy license or eligible to receive one
- 2 years experience as Physical Therapist
- Current CPR certification for Health Care Providers
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding procedures
- Thorough knowledge of physical therapy principles and practices
- Ability to build trust with physicians and co-workers
- Ability to keep a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be detailed oriented
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong sense of discretion and professionalism
