Service Truck Technician

The main purpose of this position is to travel within a 60 mile general radius to repair Tractors / Trailers that need roadside assistance and to make repairs to Tractors/ Trailers that are located at customers' shipping yards or parking lots. Due to the nature of the essential job functions of this role, this is a safety sensitive position.

• Repair trucks and trailers, including tire repair and/or tire replacement, replace fuel filters, jump‑start trucks or refrigerated trailers, replace batteries, alternators, trailer door seals, trailer dolly legs, wheel seals, and other hardware.
• Repair air brake systems, coolant leaks, patch holes in trailer roof, side panels, and floor.
• Repair electrical and lighting problems, suspension and air ride systems, weld and repair mud flap brackets, ICC bumpers, and other components that can be repaired outside the shop building.
• Communicate with Shop Manager or Road Breakdown using cell phone or 2‑way radio.
• Fill out work orders and document parts used and labor times for repairs completed.
• Drive service truck from shop to service site and return; keep the service truck fueled, properly maintained, and clean.
• Keep service truck parts inventoried and restock parts as needed; bring necessary parts to accommodate on‑site repairs.
• Perform any additional duties requested by the shop manager.

• Mechanic aptitude and ability to operate shop tools and air tools.
• Operate a service truck.
• Read shop service manuals.
• Work independently.
• Lift in excess of 100 lbs.

• Minimum of 2 years truck and trailer repair experience.
• Ability to read and write.
• Good communication skills.
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry experience.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
