The City of Lodi, Electric Utility Department, invites experienced professionals to join us in continuous improvement across GIS Utility Network, OMS system, data historian, work order, and management processes. This role encourages creativity and ongoing system and software optimization to deliver an exceptional experience to our internal customers.

Located in Lodi, a community of 68,000 residents, the city sits adjacent to Highway 99 and I‑5, 34 miles south of Sacramento, 10 miles north of Stockton, and 90 miles east of San Francisco. The city features lush parks, wineries, museums, a lake, and open space.

Responsibilities
  • Under minimal supervision, perform specialized business process and technology support utilizing Electric Utility’s technology solutions in design, configuration, operation, maintenance, and accessibility.
  • Design and configure enterprise technology solutions to support business units (ESRI GIS, outage management systems, PI or similar data historians, AMR/AMI meter data systems).
  • Develop and create digitized maps in GIS using ESRI ArcGIS Pro; interpret and reconcile technical engineering drawings to produce final legal as‑built for EU.
  • Perform quality checks on attributes, spatial location, database structure and connectivity or data received from construction crews.
  • Create and maintain connected network schematic generation in ArcGIS Pro Utility Network.
  • Create and update metadata and catalog GIS layers; document workflow procedures for staff using GIS.
  • Support enterprise GIS data modeling and data capture initiatives; review software functionality using Windows, iOS, and other operating systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS 10.0 or higher, Arc Pro, ArcGIS Online, Survey
    123, Collector, Field Maps, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Buildout and expansion of PI data historian or similar historian with SCADA data; integrate with GIS and other applications.
  • Execute QA/QC on all enterprise technologies used by multiple business groups.
  • Analyze needs for modification and enhancement of existing application; evaluate effectiveness of current technology.
  • Provide continuous improvement of technologies through experience, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Create documentation and procedures based on existing and new workflows.
  • Establish training needs and develop training materials for classroom and on‑the‑job training.
  • Collaborate with third‑party vendors and consultants to enhance existing technologies and implement new or future features.
  • Perform other duties related to the operation of the department and the city.

  • Prepare a variety of written reports, records, and correspondence.
  • Use effective decision‑making, results delivery, team building and stay current with technology.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with co‑workers, other city employees, outside agencies, and the public.
Education and Experience

Any combination equivalent to education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and ability would be qualifying. A typical combination is:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in electrical engineering, computer science, business administration or a related engineering or technology field.
