Position ImpactThe Network Facilities Technician Engineer maintains network infrastructure to support reliable communication services. Responsibilities include installing, configuring, and maintaining network components at sites such as overhead framing, DC plants, cable stitching, relay racks, switches, servers, and cable termination. The role also reacts to electrical outages, telecom disruptions, and security system failures, collaborating with network engineers and stakeholders to troubleshoot and implement solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and vendor management for DC power plants, generators, air conditioning, ATC, and data centers.
- Install and manage equipment (routers, switches, servers, cameras, racks) during new and existing deployments.
- Respond promptly to incidents, outages, or service disruptions; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and administrators to share knowledge and provide support during maintenance activities.
- Execute infrastructure projects to expand or optimize network facilities.
- Maintain fiber and copper cross‑connects, conduct OTDR testing, and manage DC power cabling.
- Create and maintain MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs; document configuration, layouts, and inventory.
- Extensive travel to project sites, data centers, and network facilities, including overnight stays.
- Travel on short notice for emergency or critical maintenance situations.
- Travel to remote or client sites as needed for special projects or equipment upgrades.
- Complete training, examinations, performance reviews, and goal setting.
- Participate in internal or external meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Cross‑train and share knowledge with team members.
- Support routine tasks and maintain a professional appearance.
- Perform related duties assigned by management.
- Lift and carry up to 80 pounds without assistance; perform tasks such as sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, walking, and operating equipment.
- Use hand and finger dexterity and maintain a safe workspace.
- Wear appropriate safety gear as required.
- Operate in adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain, dust).
- Operate company‑provided vehicles in accordance with policies.
- U.S. employment eligibility without sponsorship.
- Minimum age 18.
- Valid driver’s license.
- 2+ years installation experience in telecom.
- 2+ years in network facilities (DC power plants, generators, HVAC, fiber cross‑connects).
- Proficiency with electrical and telecom testing tools (volt meter, OTDR, VFL, optical power meter).
- Ability to lift heavy equipment up to 80 pounds safely.
- Flexibility to work shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Effective communication in English (speaking, reading, writing).
- Proficient with MS Office and teleconferencing.
- Strong time management and prioritization.
