Police Officer Academy Graduate​/Trainee

the city of lodi police department is offering an excellent opportunity for individuals who recently graduated, are currently attending, or have been accepted to a full or part‑time police academy looking to secure a position with an organization offering growth opportunity and challenge.

to be eligible for this position, you must be a recent graduate (within 2 years of closing date) of a california basic p.o.s.t. Police academy, or, currently accepted or enrolled in a california basic p.o.s.t. Police academy.

under close supervision and direction of instructors or field training officers, you will learn duties, responsibilities, and skills to perform law enforcement and crime prevention work.

this position is an entry level, non‑sworn position in the police department. Incumbents are assigned to the basic peace officer academy and must satisfactorily pass all the requirements that lead to possession of the basic peace officer standards and training certificate. After graduation from such an academy the incumbent will be appointed as a police officer under the supervision of a police corporal while in the field training program.

If incumbents do not successfully complete a police academy, they will be terminated. Attend and successfully complete a police academy to prepare for the position of police officer.

• possession of a valid driver's license issued by the california department of motor vehicles by date of appointment.
• minimum age: 20 years at the time of examination and 21 years at the date of appointment.
• must be in excellent general health and physical condition and able to pass a comprehensive medical examination administered by the city.
• normal hearing in each ear.
• vision: 20/100 correctable to 20/30; normal color perception.
