Job Overview

Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, and coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment. This unit provides intensive, comprehensive care and monitoring for neonates experiencing life‑threatening conditions.

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), this would be a Level III or Level IV designation.

Night shift/36–48 hours/Needs Post Partum Ep., NICU RNs float as NRP nurses and to postpartum.

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN):
  Preferred
• Acute care facility experience:
  Preferred

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice:
  Required
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS or HS‑BLS or RQIBLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy:
  Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS or HS‑BLS or RQI BLS) certification:
  Required
• Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP):
  Required
