Furst-McNess Company is looking to add a full-time Quality & Safety Technician at our Lodi, WI location.

Starting Pay Range: $24.00-$29.00 per hour (compensation will be determined by relevant experience and the interview process)

Pay Type:

Hourly rate with overtime pay, paid bi-weekly

Work Setting:
Onsite, Production/Warehouse environment

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality & Safety Technician supports compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards across Company facilities. This role helps ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies by conducting inspections, collecting samples, maintaining records, and supporting training and continuous improvement efforts. The position works closely with operations teams to promote a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform routine safety, quality, and facility inspections using established checklists and procedures

Observe daily work practices and reinforce safe behaviors and proper equipment use Assist in incident and complaint investigations by gathering information, documenting findings, and supporting corrective action tracking

Collect, label, document, maintain, and test product, ingredient, environmental, or other required samples in accordance with established procedures

Review production, receiving, and compliance documentation for completeness, accuracy, and traceability

Support environmental compliance tasks, including inspections, waste handling verification, and recordkeeping

Assist with delivery of safety, quality, and compliance training using prepared materials

Assist in the identification, segregation, documentation, disposition, review, and release of non-conforming materials or products, as applicable

Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety, quality, food safety, environmental, and regulatory procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation to support audits, inspections, regulatory requirements, and compliance programs

Participate in internal audits and inspections by gathering data and documenting observations

Assist with inventory control, reconciliation, and documentation of regulated or controlled materials, as applicable

Track identified issues and follow up to ensure timely completion of corrective actions

May travel between facilities as needed to complete assigned inspections and tasks

Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Additional training or coursework in safety, environmental health, or quality systems preferred2+ years of experience in safety, quality, compliance, or a similar hands-on role in manufacturing, agriculture/feed production, or industrial environments preferred

Experience in roles such as Safety Technician, EHS Technician, QA/QC Technician, or Compliance Technician is a plus Basic working knowledge of OSHA, FDA, FSMA, or similar standards preferredPCQI certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred

Ability to read, write, and speak English Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow procedures and document work

Good organizational and communication skills

Ability to manage multiple assigned tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
