Delivery Driver at Warehouse

BASIC FUNCTIONS

Operate a light truck or van to pick up and deliver mail, equipment, materials, supplies and District funds; assist in the District warehouse operations.

KNOWLEDGE OF:
Safe driving practices and traffic laws;
Basic principles and methods of servicing automotive equipment;
Proper loading and unloading of vans;
Basic record‑keeping techniques;
Proper methods of lifting heavy objects.

ABILITY TO:
Drive an assigned vehicle to pick-up and deliver supplies, equipment and materials;
Read road maps, labels and route schedules;
Maintain routine records;
Perform basic math calculations;
Perform heavy physical labor;
Understand and follow oral and written instructions;
Work cooperatively with others.

Any combination equivalent to: high school diploma or equivalent and responsible experience in driving light vehicles in delivery work.

• High School Diploma OR Equivalent OR
• Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree or Higher Education Degree

Valid California driver’s license. Presentation and continuance of a satisfactory driving record which assures maintenance of liability insurance coverage. The successful applicant will be required to pass a pre‑employment physical examination. Cost of the exam will be borne by the District. A pre‑employment drug screening will also be administered. If selected for the position, out‑of‑district applicants must be T.B. tested and fingerprinted.

A practical skills test may be administered at the time of interview.
