Most estimating jobs are about winning bids. This one is about helping build the infrastructure that keeps cities moving.

We're recruiting for an Estimator who can take complex transportation and infrastructure projects and turn them into accurate, competitive, and executable estimates. This role supports projects involving traffic signals, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), roadway lighting, and civil projects.

If you've spent time in estimating, project management, field operations, or the skilled trades and understand how infrastructure projects are actually built—not just how they're priced—this could be a great opportunity.

What You'll Do:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for traffic signal, ITS, roadway lighting, pump station, airport electrical, and municipal infrastructure projects
• Perform quantity takeoffs from plans, specifications, and contract documents
• Review drawings and bid packages to determine project scope and requirements
• Estimate electrical construction components including conduit systems, wiring, lighting, and traffic signal installations
• Estimate civil construction components including foundations, drainage, curb, sidewalk, and roadway improvements
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
• Analyze project risks, constructability concerns, and value engineering opportunities
• Collaborate with project managers, field operations, vendors, and leadership teams throughout the bidding process
• Assist with proposal development, bid submissions, and project handoff meetings

What We're Looking For:

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5-7+ years of construction-related experience
• Experience in estimating, project management, field supervision, or skilled trades
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents
• Working knowledge of electrical construction, traffic signals, roadway lighting, ITS, or related infrastructure
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Microsoft Office proficiency, especially Excel
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

• Estimating experience within traffic signals, ITS, roadway lighting, pump stations, or municipal infrastructure
• Civil construction estimating experience involving drainage, roadway improvements, curb, and sidewalk work
• Traffic Signal Technician, Journeyman Electrician, or similar field background
• Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related education
• Experience with DOT, municipal, county, or public works projects
• Experience with estimating software and bid management platforms
• Experience assembling complete bid packages
