Certified Substitute Teacher

The Lodi Public School District is seeking certified substitute teachers for the 2026-27 school year. Interested candidates must apply through Frontline and complete the Substitute Teacher Survey.

Reports to:

Principal/Vice Principal

Pay Rate: $153 per day

Terms:

Per Diem Position; as needed position

Responsibilities:

• Carry out the duties of the classroom teacher as outlined in the lesson plans
• Manage student classroom behavior and enforce school rules and policies in the absence of the classroom teacher
• Creating a positive learning environment
• Providing instruction to students by following the teacher's substitute lesson plans
• Building positive relationship with students and faculty
• Motivating students to learn and participate in the daily lessons
• Demonstrating a familiarity with school, philosophy, program and policies

Qualifications:

• Substitute Teacher Certificate
• To be eligible for a substitute certificate the applicant must have a minimum of 60 college credits or 30 college credits and currently enrolled in a college program
• NJ Teaching Certificate (CE, CEAS, or Standard)

Documents needed:

• Resume
• Copy of your substitute license or teaching certificate
• Copy of your recent mantoux (tuberculosis) test

Work Hours:

• Elementary School: 8:25 am to 3:05 pm
• Middle School: 8:25 am to 3:05 pm
• High School: 8:00 am to 2:40 pm
