Position: Assistant Professor, Doctorate of Counseling Psychology (B)

Assistant Professor 2, Doctorate of Counseling Psychology Program

Felician University, the Franciscan University of New Jersey, seeks academically qualified specialists to teach in the School of Arts and Sciences, Doctorate of Counseling Psychology Program, for the  academic year. The Assistant Professor plays an integral role in shaping the minds and developing the skill sets of our students by delivering engaging instruction using best practices in higher education in areas of expertise.

S/he collaborates with faculty and staff colleagues to foster a supportive learning environment for doctoral students in an APA-accredited Counseling Psychology Program through teaching, as well as contributing to the supervision and training of counseling psychology doctoral students.

Opportunities are available for faculty to teach rosters in:

  • Clinical Supervision, Cognitive Assessment, Personality Assessment, Foundations of Neuropsychological Assessment, Cognitive and Affective Bases of behavior, Biological Bases of Behavior

Required

Education:

Earned doctorate in Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program; consideration may be given for an earned doctorate in a related field

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated training and expertise in neuropsychological assessment
  • Established record of related research and scholarship appropriate to rank
  • Documented teaching experience in a related discipline at an institution of higher education.
  • 5+ years’ clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, with the ability to provide quality customer service to a diverse student constituency in accordance with the University’s values.
  • Ability to build and sustain positive working relationships.
  • Well-developed problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to identify and maintain confidentiality with sensitivity and empathy.
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and record-keeping skills, with attention to detail and timely and accurate follow-through.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with flexibility, willingness to learn, ability to change, and maintain current technology skills.
  • Willingness and ability to support and promote the Felician Franciscan Mission and values of the University.

Salary Range: $63,500 – 85,900 commensurate with rank and experience
