Permanent Substitute Teacher

The Lodi Board of Education is seeking a permanent substitute teacher for Lodi High School, effective September 1, 2026. Qualifications include a regular New Jersey teaching certificate or a substitute teacher's certificate issued by the County Superintendent. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred but not required. The substitute teacher reports to the principal and is responsible for following the regular teacher's plans and instructions, conducting effective learning experiences, establishing standards of acceptable pupil behavior, maintaining the classroom, upholding school rules, implementing fire drill and school evacuation procedures, maintaining accurate records, and preparing a written report for the regular teacher.

The work year consists of 5.5 hours per day, excluding a 40-minute lunch, for five days a week, totaling 184 days as per the staff calendar. The salary is $31,385, prorated based on time in position. The position serves to cover a current teaching vacancy and will be terminated with notice if/when that vacancy is filled. Performance will be evaluated by building principals.
