The Lodi Board of Education is seeking the following:

POSITION

PERMANENT SUBSTITUTE TEACHER

LOCATION

Columbus Elementary School

EFFECTIVE

September 1, 2026

QUALIFICATIONS

A regular New Jersey teaching certificate or a substitute teacher's certificate issued by the County Superintendent
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required.

REPORTS TO

Principal

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Substitute teachers shall make every effort within their area of professional expertise to instruct children in their charge in accordance with the curriculum adopted by the Board of Education.

WORK YEAR

5.5 hours/day exclusive of an hour lunch; 5 days/week; 184 total days as per staff calendar

PERFORMING RESPONSIBILITIES

Follows plans and instructions of the regular teacher.

Conducts effective learning experiences.

Establishes and encourages, in a fair and just manner, standards of acceptable pupil behavior.

Maintains the physical condition of the classroom, equipment and supplies.

Upholds and enforces school rules and regulations.

Studies, and implements when necessary, fire drill and school evacuation procedures.

Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law and administrative regulations.

Prepares a written report for the regular teacher giving information on work covered, assignments, etc.

SALARY

$31,385

EVALUATION

Performance of this position will be evaluated by building principals.

Substitutes will report every day to their assigned school and may be sent to another school if needed.
