We are seeking a Tax Manager to join our Logan, Utah office. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to work closely with business owners and leadership teams while managing tax engagements, developing staff, and providing strategic tax planning and consulting services. The ideal candidate is CPA eligible or licensed, enjoys client interaction, and thrives in an environment that values autonomy, accountability, and professional growth.

Client Service & Advisory- Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for assigned clients.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service.
- Provide tax planning and consulting services to support client business objectives.
- Identify tax saving opportunities and recommend practical solutions.
- Manage tax engagements from planning through final delivery.
- Review federal, state, and local tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Review work prepared by associates and senior associates while providing coaching and feedback.
- Conduct tax research and prepare technical memorandums as needed.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and communicate impacts to clients and internal teams.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of approximately one to two tax professionals.
- Provide technical guidance and support staff development initiatives.
- Participate in performance evaluations and career development planning.
- Foster a collaborative and positive team environment.
- Manage engagement budgets, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Maintain high quality standards and adherence to firm procedures.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and best practices within the tax department.
- Assist with business development and growth initiatives as appropriate.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- CPA eligible or actively pursuing CPA licensure.
- Five or more years of progressive public accounting tax experience.
- Experience reviewing business and individual tax returns.
- Strong knowledge of federal and multi state tax regulations.
- Excellent client relationship and communication skills.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
Preferred
- Active CPA license.
- Prior experience supervising and mentoring staff.
- Experience with tax planning and consulting engagements.
- Exposure to manufacturing, healthcare, or closely held business clients.
- Strong technical tax knowledge and research capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
- Self motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
