Job Summary
The Home Health Office Manager plays a vital role in supporting our home health team by serving as the first point of contact for patients, families, staff, and referral partners. This position creates a warm, professional, and compassionate experience for everyone who interacts with our office. The Office Manager supports daily operations through intake coordination, authorizations, referral processing, insurance verification, scheduling support, and general administrative duties to ensure smooth and efficient office flow.
Qualifications
1–2 years of medical office experience preferred
Previous office experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
Knowledge of medical terminology or general medical background preferred
Strong telephone etiquette and interpersonal communication skills
Typing/word processing speed of at least 40 words per minute
Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English
Prior staffing or scheduling experience preferred, ideally in home health or a temporary agency setting
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Computer literate (or willing to be trained)
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
Responsibilities
Greet visitors and serve as the first point of contact for incoming calls
Answer, screen, and direct calls appropriately
Manage incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and correspondence
Maintain organized filing systems and documentation
Assist with patient intake, including processing referrals and verifying insurance
Prepare admission packets and applicant materials
Schedule client services and support staff assignments
Monitor and track employee schedules
Respond to inquiries from patients, families, and referral sources
Maintain strict confidentiality of patient, employee, and agency information
Support quality improvement initiatives and agency compliance
Perform additional administrative and clerical duties as assigned
