COUNSELING SECRETARY - LHS
Applications are now being accepted for a Counseling Secretary at Logan High School. The Counseling Secretary provides administrative and clerical support to the school counseling department. This position serves as the first point of contact for students, parents, and staff, ensuring efficient office operations while maintaining confidentiality and supporting student services.
Hours per Day: 5.5
Hourly Rate: $21.40
Contract: School Year
Essential Functions- Greet and assist students, parents, and visitors in a professional manner
- Answer phone calls, emails, and inquiries; direct to appropriate personnel
- Schedule student appointments with counselors
- Manage daily office traffic and prioritize urgent student needs
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records
- Process calls-slips and supervises career center student aides
- Ensure compliance with privacy laws (e.g., FERPA)
- Assist counselors with scheduling, testing coordination, and documentation
- Prepare materials for student meetings, parent conferences, and events
- Support college and career readiness activities (applications, scholarships, graduation, etc.)
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and forms
- Maintain filing systems (digital and physical)
- Order and organize office supplies
- Work closely with counselors, administrators, and teachers
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
- Support a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous office or administrative experience preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office)
- Experience in a school or counseling office setting
- Familiarity with student information systems (e.g., Power School, Skyward)
- Knowledge of high school graduation requirements and counseling processes
- Organization and attention to detail
- Time management and prioritization
