Staff Assistant
The Staff Assistant performs a variety of administrative duties for the Center for Entrepreneurship under the direction of the Executive Director and Program Managers. Specific activities the Staff Assistant supports include lectures, competitions, planning, marketing, execution of events, and publicity for the Center. The Staff Assistant will provide administrative support for the SEED program which includes assisting the Program Coordinator with recruiting, selecting, training, and corresponding with student interns.
In addition, the Staff Assistant manages all correspondence to board members and key business partners of the Center for Entrepreneurship.
Performs office duties including answering phones, directing calls to appropriate parties, data entry, filing, and other general duties as assigned.
Provides administrative support including scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, and maintaining office supplies.
Greets and directs visitors to the Center to the appropriate people and resources.
Sorts, screens, and distributes incoming and outgoing mail.
Assists with the development and management of the center's website.
Manages the logistics of printing and distributing marketing materials for the center.
Provides administrative support to the student Entrepreneurship Club when needed.
Assists with the planning and execution of all center activities including workshops, competitions, lectures, conferences, Entrepreneurship Week, etc.
Manages correspondence and logistics for guest speakers in the annual Entrepreneur Leadership Series.
Assists with the selection, training, and management of interns working at the center.
Provides administrative support to the Program Director of the SEED program including publicity, recruiting interns, managing logistics, coordinating with partners, and assisting with field operations.
Manages all correspondence with key partners of the center including donors, board members, external partners, and partners of the SEED program.
Assist with the preparation of budgets and reports for the center.
Assists the Executive Director of the center with surveys, research, special projects, and programs to enhance the strength, visibility and overall success of the Center.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
Four years of experience; or an associate's degree plus two years of experience; or bachelor's degree in related field required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent student service skills.
Skilled with computers and software such as Word, Excel and Adobe Suite.
Excellent critical thinking skills.
Experience with planning, marketing and executing activities and events.
Skilled in creative problem solving.
Skilled with basic office equipment including printers, copiers, and telephone systems.
Excellent organizational skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential business data and personal information.
Ability to work without close supervision to improve the center and its operations.
Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
