Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a detail‑oriented Construction Surveillance Technician (CST) with an active U.S. Government security clearance to support critical construction activities at our North Logan, Utah campus. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with the CST Supervisor and SDL Site Security Manager to ensure security protocols are maintained across multiple high‑priority construction projects. You will play a crucial role in safeguarding sensitive information while contributing to the advancement of cutting‑edge space technology.
Key Responsibilities- Accomplishes opening and closing procedures for the construction site as directed by the Site Security Manager and CST Supervisor
- Provides surveillance and monitors the activities of all personnel on the secure project site at all times
- Identifies and documents anomalies and variances in construction work performed in accordance with the approved construction plans and government requirements
- Performs inspections on all construction materials, packages, boxes, crates, tools, and vehicles entering the construction site, searching for prohibited items or anomalies, per the Construction Security Plan (CSP)
- Identifies anomalies and variances in finished construction work against the official project construction plans
- Generates daily logs of construction activities and incident reports
- Must be a U.S. citizen and possess an active U.S. Government secret security clearance (Top Secret (TS) clearance is preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- General knowledge of blueprints and other building plans
- General understanding of construction practices
- Ability to work independently to identify, assess & report unique security situations with innovative solutions geared to facilitate contract performance within the bounds of security requirements
- Highly proficient written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on clear and cogent presentation of complex information
- Ability to manage time, make sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems, and provide focused solutions
- Must have a professional demeanor, good people skills, ability to communicate effectively, and be able to perform in a multi‑task, dynamic environment
- Demonstrates attention to detail in a large, complex environment
- This position may require lifting (up to 20 lbs.), standing, walking, and sitting throughout the workday
- Must have the physical ability to perform a variety of functions
- The ability to walk across uneven surfaces of a construction site, frequently go up and down stairs, and walk long distances is required
- Top‑Secret Clearance with Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) and Sensitive Compartmented Information Clearance (SCI) eligibility
- Field experience working ICD‑705 construction projects, including escorting construction personnel and verification of building requirements
- Formal Training as a Construction Surveillance Technician
