Utah State University is seeking two highly organized and student‑centered professionals to join the Student Orientation and Transition Services (SOTS) team. We are hiring from a single applicant pool to fill two distinct positions: the Parent and Transition Coordinator (Program Coordinator I) and the Orientation and Onboarding Coordinator (Program Coordinator I). Both of these roles are a blend of logistical coordination, technical work inside software platforms, mentorship of student workers, and frontline customer support.
The Parent and Transition Coordinator supports student transition initiatives and Parent and Family Programs across the USU system. They coordinate logistics, manage communications, and guide peer mentors who help new students navigate their first steps at the university. They provide high‑touch support to parents and supporters via an online platform and also implement programs such as Parent Orientation and Parent and Family Weekend.
This position also plays a key role in the USU 1010 Connections program, planning activities and supervising the peer mentors. The coordinator also contributes to social media efforts that strengthen connection and engagement with families and new students.
The Orientation and Onboarding Coordinator supports the implementation of onboarding communications and orientation programming for enrolled students across the USU system. They manage the day‑to‑day logistics that shape both online and in‑person experiences. They maintain accurate content and functional code within orientation platforms, help with communication workflows, and ensure a seamless experience across distinct student populations. The coordinator also supervises the A-Team, a group of student workers who facilitate orientation, manage high‑volume communication channels, and provide high‑quality customer service to incoming students and their families.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Parent and Transition Coordinator
* Coordinate Parent and Family Programs in Logan and support statewide logistics for newsletters, events, and online content.
* Provide high‑touch customer service to parents and supporters through email, phone, Zoom, and in‑person interactions.
* Manage the delivery and accuracy of parent communications through Campus
ESP and other platforms.
* Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor USU 1010 Connections Peer Mentors.
* Support day‑to‑day logistics for the USU 1010 course in Logan, including activities and large-scale events.
* Organize and execute Logan‑based family events such as Parent Orientation and Parent and Family Weekend.
* Coordinate social media content that supports orientation and transition goals.
* Develop and support transition-related programs that help incoming students find their place at the university.
* Collect feedback from students, mentors, and families to support program improvement.
* Stay current on university policies and ensure parent- and transition-related content remains accurate and up to date.
* Use various software tools to track engagement and support data-informed decision making.
