Overview

The Philosophy Program at Utah State University invites applications for a 1-year teaching Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow for the academic year 2026-27, beginning in August 2026 and ending in May 2027. AOS and AOC are open, and the teaching load is 3 courses each semester. Courses will include lower-division sections of Introduction to Philosophy and Ethics, an upper-division course in metaphysics or epistemology, and an upper-division course in AI Ethics.

In their applications, candidates should include a cover letter, a CV, and a list of three references. Please note that the Philosophy Program is housed within the Department of History licants should complete the online application at  Applications should be submitted by no later than April 10, 2026 to receive full consideration.

Responsibilities
  • Teach a variety of Philosophy courses, including Introduction to Philosophy, Ethics, AI Ethics, and a coursein the area of Metaphysics and Epistemology.
  • Expected teaching load of 3-3.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in Philosophy (prior to August 2026).
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively teach a variety of Philosophy courses.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Willingness to contribute to the life of the department.
  • Ability to teach courses that fit our program's curriculum.

Advertised Salary

Minimum $50,000, Commensurate with qualifications and experience, plus excellent benefits
