Overview
The Financial Coach reports to the Director of the Student Money Management Center in Student Financial Support. This position manages a subset of responsibilities within the center as outlined in the duties and responsibilities below.
This position is telework eligible within the state of Utah.
Responsibilities- Offer one on one coaching sessions to prospective and current USU students that provides them with sound financial advice to assist them in persisting to graduation.
- Provide sound advice and information on:
- Institutional and State of Utah scholarships.
- Federal financial aid.
- Student housing, meal plans, parking, advising, new student orientation etc. Will answer the numerous questions that new freshmen and their parents have.
Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge, skillset, or potential related to the specific duties & responsibilities of the position.
- Four years of related experience; or an associate degree plus two years of experience; or a bachelor's degree is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Higher Education
- Experience in budgeting or accounting
- Utah State University experience
- Familiarity with any of the following systems:
Office 365 (specifically Excel), Banner, Student Forms, Campus Communicator, Scholarship Universe, or Service Now. - Experience with budget management or financial aid.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Friendly disposition and enjoys working with students.
- Empathetic listening.
- Detail oriented, accurate, and self-motivated.
- Organized and able to work in a fast-paced office as a community-minded team member.
$15.00 per hour
ADAEmployees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
