Event Coordinator – GEAR UP
Applications are now being accepted for an Event Coordinator for GEAR UP. The GEAR UP Event Coordinator & Data Specialist supports the implementation of the GEAR UP grant by coordinating student, family, and college readiness events while managing program data collection, reporting, and compliance. This position ensures that GEAR UP activities are well organized, properly documented, and aligned with grant requirements and program goals.
Hours per Day: 5.75
Hourly Rate: $22.46
Contract: School Year

Essential Functions- Plan, organize, and coordinate GEAR UP events including college visits, career exploration activities, parent and family engagement nights, financial aid workshops, academic support events
- Coordinate logistics such as scheduling facilities, transportation, materials and supplies, guest speakers and presenters
- Communicate event information to students, families, and staff.
- Track attendance and participation for all GEAR UP events.
- Support the development of outreach materials and event promotion.
- Maintain accurate records of student participation in GEAR UP services.
- Collect and enter data into required GEAR UP databases and reporting systems.
- Track student participation in tutoring, mentoring, college readiness activities, academic support programs
- Assist with preparation of reports required by the grant and district.
- Ensure documentation meets federal grant compliance requirements.
- Monitor data quality and maintain organized digital and physical records.
- Assist the GEAR UP team with program implementation and coordination.
- Collaborate with counselors, teachers, and administrators to identify students for GEAR UP services.
- Support evaluation of program effectiveness through data analysis.
- Assist with communication and coordination between schools, families, and community partners.
Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
ExperienceJob related experience is preferred
EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 48 college credit hours or the ability to pass the Para Pro Test
Required TestingPara Pro Assessment if not highly qualified with 48 college credit hours
