As a Medical Terminology Instructor, you'll help students develop the essential vocabulary and understanding needed to succeed in a variety of healthcare professions. What You'll Do

As a Part-Time Medical Terminology Instructor, you will provide engaging instruction that helps students master the language of healthcare and develop a strong understanding of medical vocabulary, anatomy, physiology, diagnostic procedures, and common healthcare terminology.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned with approved curriculum.
  • Teaching medical terminology using word roots, prefixes, suffixes, abbreviations, and anatomical terminology.
  • Helping students develop proficiency in healthcare communication.
  • Creating a positive, organized, and student-centered learning environment.
  • Assessing student learning through assignments, quizzes, examinations, and classroom activities.
  • Monitoring student progress and providing individualized support and feedback.
  • Preparing instructional materials and maintaining accurate student records.
  • Reinforcing professionalism, critical thinking, and effective communication skills.
  • Collaborating with faculty and staff to ensure instructional consistency and student success.
  • Supporting continuous program improvement while incorporating current healthcare terminology and industry standards.

What We're Looking For

Successful candidates will have:

  • A background in healthcare, medical assisting, nursing, health sciences, or a related medical profession.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to explain complex medical concepts in an engaging and understandable way.
  • Strong organizational and classroom management skills.
  • A commitment to supporting student learning, growth, and success.
  • The ability to model professionalism, leadership, and ethical behavior.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching, training, mentoring, or instructional experience.
  • Experience using learning management systems and instructional technology.
  • Experience working in clinical or healthcare settings where medical terminology is used.
