Logan City School District is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and student-centered Instructional Assistant – Behavior to support students at Mount Logan Middle School. This position assists teachers and administrators in creating a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment by providing behavioral, academic, and instructional support to students with diverse learning and behavioral needs. The Instructional Assistant – Behavior works collaboratively with teachers, administrators, specialists, and families to promote student success, reinforce positive behavior, and support individualized learning goals.

• Provide instructional support to students individually and in small groups under the direction of licensed staff.
• Assist in implementing individualized learning plans, behavior intervention plans, accommodations, and classroom supports.
• Adapt classroom activities and instructional materials to meet individual student needs.
• Reinforce academic instruction and behavioral expectations using established instructional strategies.
• Assist with administering classroom assessments and monitoring student progress.
• Observe, document, and communicate student academic and behavioral performance to appropriate staff.
• Support students in developing appropriate social, emotional, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Model and reinforce positive behavior, conflict resolution, and appropriate classroom conduct.
• Assist teachers in developing and preparing instructional materials and classroom activities.
• Conduct instructional activities such as reading support, skill practice, small‑group instruction, and other educational interventions.
• Monitor students in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, playgrounds, field trips, and other school settings to ensure safety and appropriate behavior.
• Maintain classroom materials, instructional resources, and assigned inventories.
• Assist with classroom organization and preparation of instructional materials.
• Support substitute teachers and other staff by providing information regarding student needs and classroom routines.
• Participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development activities as assigned.
• Report incidents involving student safety, suspected abuse, bullying, substance abuse, or other concerns in accordance with district policy and state law.
• Respond professionally to inquiries from teachers, administrators, specialists, parents, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and employee information in accordance with district policy and applicable federal and state laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the instructional program and school operations.

• Assist with implementing positive behavior supports and de‑escalation strategies.
• Encourage student independence while providing appropriate supervision and guidance.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, behavior specialists, and administrators to support student achievement and well‑being.
• Help maintain a structured, organized, and positive classroom environment.
• Assist with data collection related to student behavior and academic progress.
• Support school‑wide behavioral expectations and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) initiatives, when applicable.
• Assist with supervision during school activities and special events.
• Perform related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient operation of the school.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 48 semester college credit hours from an accredited college or university or successful completion of the Para Pro Assessment
  , if required.

• Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational, behavioral, or related setting is preferred.
• Experience supporting students with behavioral, emotional, or special learning needs is desirable.
