What You'll Do- Planning, developing, and delivering organized learning opportunities aligned with approved course outlines.
- Providing hands-on instruction in veterinary assisting procedures, animal care, safety practices, and professional standards in the animal sciences lab.
- Creating a positive, supportive, and student-centered learning environment.
- Assessing student learning through assignments, practical evaluations, and examinations.
- Monitoring student attendance, progress, and achievement.
- Maintaining accurate student records and supporting academic advising efforts.
- Collaborating with faculty and staff to promote student success and program excellence.
- Implementing innovative teaching strategies that enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Modeling professionalism, ethical conduct, and industry best practices.
- Maintaining relationships with industry partners to ensure curriculum remains relevant and aligned with workforce needs.
- Ensuring the safe use of instructional facilities, equipment, and materials.
- Supporting continuous improvement efforts and program development initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a knowledgeable veterinary professional who is passionate about education, animal care, and helping students achieve their goals.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience working in veterinary assisting, veterinary technology, animal healthcare, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary procedures, animal handling, clinical practices, and workplace safety.
- Previous teaching, training, mentoring, or supervisory experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively teach both technical concepts and hands-on skills.
- Strong organizational and classroom management abilities.
- Commitment to maintaining a professional, positive, and student-focused learning environment.
- Ability to build relationships with students, faculty, staff, and industry partners.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with standard office software applications.
