This position is for approximately 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Position OverviewThe Specialist, ISO supports student academic success by coordinating learning strategies, mentoring programs, and student support services. This position develops individualized academic plans for struggling students, coordinates mentoring programs, and supports students participating in In‑School Placement (ISP) or academic monitoring programs.
Specialist, ISOKey Responsibilities
- Develop targeted academic plans for students experiencing academic or behavioral challenges.
- Assess skills and needs of students and volunteer mentors to support mentoring activities.
- Collaborate with school administration to monitor and support students exhibiting behavioral concerns.
- Coordinate mentoring programs including recruitment, scheduling, and training of volunteer mentors.
- Orient volunteers to program expectations, procedures, and responsibilities.
- Maintain manual and electronic records related to students and mentors.
- Promote mentoring programs to students, staff, and community organizations.
- Recruit and screen volunteer mentors according to district policies and procedures.
- Schedule mentors and match them with students based on needs and program goals.
- Prepare written materials including reports, brochures, letters, and program documentation.
- Supervise mentoring activities and program events.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and professional development sessions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
