Position: Elementary Dual Language Immersion Teachers [Spanish]

Cache County School District is seeking Elementary Dual Language Immersion Teachers [Spanish] in North Logan, Utah.

DUTIES:

The Elementary Dual Language Immersion Teacher [Spanish] instructs students in a dual language immersion setting at the elementary school level (Grades 1st - 6th) with an emphasis on Spanish (hereinafter referred to as the 'Target Language of Instruction') language arts and culture.

Instruct students in math, the Target Language of Instruction, science, and social studies in the Target Language of Instruction using various teaching methods as set forth in the Utah Dual Language Immersion program model;

Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests;

Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among students;

Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children' progress and to determine priorities for their children and their resource needs;

Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health and preparation for later grades;

Perform such other duties and responsibilities as assigned. [

Note:

This position could be at any of the elementary schools located in the Cache County School District, all of which are located in multiple cities and towns within Cache County, Utah.]

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Elementary or Secondary Education or a related field. A foreign degree is accepted.

License:

Hold a valid educator license issued by Utah State Board of Education (USBE) or, within 90 days of the date of hire, will be eligible to obtain said license; or has met all the requirements for and has been enrolled in the District's Educator Licensing APPEL Program.

Foreign Language Proficiency:

Spanish language proficiency is required.

Other Requirements:

An educator endorsement for World Languages in the Target Language of Instruction issued by the USBE; or, within 90 days of the date of hire, will be eligible to obtain said endorsement; or has met all the requirements for and has been enrolled in the District's Educator Licensing APPEL Program;

An educator endorsement in Dual Language Immersion issued by the USBE; or, within 90 days of the date of hire, will be eligible to obtain said endorsement; or has met all the requirements for and has been enrolled in the District's Educator Licensing APPEL Program;

If the required endorsements are not yet obtained, has received an OPI or OPIc score of Advanced-Mid or higher for the Target Language of Instruction as administered by the ACTFL; or has received a post-secondary degree from an institution of higher education located in a country where the Target Language of Instruction is the primary language;

If the required endorsements are not yet obtained, has received an OPI score of Advanced-Mid or higher for English as administered by the ACTFL; or has received a post-secondary degree from an institution of higher education located in a country where English is the primary language;

Demonstrated ability and willingness to implement and, as necessary, adapt the Target Language of Instruction (Spanish) curriculum at the elementary school level

Demonstrated commitment to professional growth in education, teaching methods, and strategies.
