- reduce cost of poor quality spend throughout ifit
- drive continuous qms improvement
- improve customer out of box experience (poi)
- improve manufacturing performance & ll
- provide recurring training to the quality team
- drive company quality performance metrics.
- visually inspect printed circuits for soldering defects, missing or wrong components, cracked traces, foreign material, per ipc standards.
- must have complete focus on the quality of electronics sub-assemblies from base prototype designs through manufacturing at high volume.
- will work closely with different departments and outside suppliers at every stage of the development and life of the product to ensure quality standards are met.
- set up standard test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, environmental, and life testing on products.
- support audits, customer visits/requests for information, factory acceptance tests, etc.
- coordinate cross functional team investigations on supplier quality and product quality.
- develops plans and recommends changes to reduce costs and improve quality.
- support for customer complaints and process discrepancy investigations.
- facilitate root cause analysis (rca) and corrective actions of supplier quality issues with the sufficient level of depth, and that actions are monitored through to effective closure.
- work with the engineering (design and manufacturing engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements.
- prepare and maintain documentation such as sops & inspection results for management review.
- read schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot on a component and system level.
- occasional travel, both foreign and domestic, may be required.
- after hours communication with foreign vendors may be necessary.
- bachelor's degree (electrical engineering or electronics technology is preferred) from an accredited university or college.
- a minimum of 3 years' experience in quality, manufacturing, operations, or materials.
- clear understanding of corrective, containment, and preventative actions.
- ability to read, write, speak and understand english.
- must have strong circuit analysis and troubleshooting skills.
- must have a strong understanding of ac/dc circuits, ac/dc motors, digital logic, and a basic understanding of software design, application design, web api's, and microcontrollers.
- strong analytical skills and proven root cause analysis skills including cross-functional facilitation ability.
- strong communication skills - verbal and written to liaise with quality and cross-functional counterparts to address quality-related matters.
- previous experience with esd, labview, python, or raspberry pi is highly desirable, but not required.
- clear understanding of corrective, containment, and preventative actions.
- able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to evoke critical thinking.
- fluent in basics of computers, google docs, spreadsheets, email, office suite, etc.
- advantageous to have experience with statistical process control, fault tree analysis, failure modes and effect analysis, design and process (dfmea, pfmea), weibull analysis, six sigma (6σ) methodology, root-cause and root-cause failure analysis (rca, rcfa).
