Senior CNC Manufacturing Engineer | Technical Lead

We are seeking an experienced CNC manufacturing professional who understands complex machining, Mastercam programming, tooling, fixtures, GD&T, and process development and is ready for greater technical leadership.

Manufacturing Engineer, CNC Manufacturing Engineer, Machining Engineer, Process Engineer, Applications Engineer, Tooling Engineer, or Senior CNC Programmer. We care more about what you know how to do than the title on your business card.
This position combines hands-on CNC manufacturing engineering with technical leadership. You will remain close to the shop floor while helping lead manufacturing engineering, solve difficult machining problems, improve processes, and mentor others.
What You'll Do• Develop and optimize processes for complex, tight-tolerance CNC components.
• Program, review, troubleshoot, and improve machining processes using Mastercam.
• Support multi-axis milling, turning, mill-turn, and other advanced machining operations.
• Develop tooling, fixtures, work holding strategies, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters.
• Use Solid Works for fixture design and manufacturing process development.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings and advanced GD&T requirements.
• Troubleshoot problems involving tolerances, tooling, work holding, materials, cycle time, and process capability.
• Work with materials including titanium, Inconel, stainless steels, tool steels, and aluminum.
• Lead and mentor manufacturing engineers, programmers, and technical team members.
• Partner with Production, Quality, and Operations to improve manufacturability and performance.
• Drive root-cause analysis and improvements in scrap, rework, cycle time, tool life, quality, and manufacturing cost.
• Support new product introduction and evaluate new equipment, tooling, software, and manufacturing technologies.
What We're Looking ForWe are especially interested in someone with:
• Significant hands-on CNC machining and manufacturing process experience.
• Hands-on Mastercam programming experience.
• Multi-axis or 5-axis CNC machining experience.
• Knowledge of milling, turning, tooling, fixtures, and work holding.
• Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
• Experience developing processes for complex, tight-tolerance parts.
• Solid Works or comparable CAD experience.
• Experience troubleshooting difficult machining and manufacturing problems.
• Experience machining titanium, Inconel, stainless steels, or similar materials.
• The technical credibility to work directly with experienced machinists, programmers, engineers, and production leaders.
Leadership ExperienceYou do not need to be a current Engineering Manager.
We are interested in people who have formally led engineers or programmers as well as technical leaders who have become the person others rely on for machining knowledge, problem solving, mentoring, and direction.
If you are a Senior CNC Programmer, Applications Engineer, Process Engineer, Tooling Engineer, or CNC Manufacturing Engineer already functioning as a technical leader, this could be an excellent next step.
Education & Additional ExperienceA bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related discipline is preferred.
Experience with in aerospace, defense, medical device, space, precision machining, industrial equipment, or other highly technical manufacturing environments is valuable.
Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, AS9102, ITAR, Lean, Six Sigma, CAPA, or similar systems is helpful.
