Event Services is a growing department whose primary function is to assure the events hosted by Utah State University, "Exceed Expectations". The primary purpose of this position is to work under the direction of the Equipment and Venue Coordinator. The successful candidate will use discretion and independent judgment in the performance of venue and event related activities, completing assigned duties in a timely manner, and in accordance with the division's standards.
The work hours for this position are flexible and will require some night, weekend, and holiday hours as needed. Regular Shift between 7:30 AM
-5:00 PM Monday - Friday. This job position will work through the Summer as well as during the school year.
- Provide excellent and ongoing customer service throughout the guest experience
- Ensure timely delivery and setup of event equipment to indoor and outdoor event locations across the University campus as well as other locations as necessary
- Facilitate inter-departmental groups with various roles and responsibilities as required
- Maintain inventory of department equipment and provide basic upkeep
- Ensure that equipment is clean and presentable
- Provide basic maintenance of departmental vehicles
- Responsibility to open, monitor, and close venues
- Maintain clean and clear access to and from venues throughout all seasons of the year
- Provide on-site assistance with events as required
- General set up and clean up, as needed, before, during and after events
- Complete other event and venue responsibilities as required including some basic janitorial duties
- Exceptional customer service skills

Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds), walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting. This position requires nearly continuous standing, repetitive hand motions, and reaching overhead. Employees may be exposed to unusual elements including extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
